Cordial: Instructions for Initial ESP Set Up

⏳Completing these instructions should take around 1 hour.

The major steps involve:

  • Creating a new Cordial Role, then creating new Cordial user(s) with that role
  • Setting up new Cordial API Key(s)
  • Sharing additional parameters related to your Cordial environment

To create UI user(s) for Movable Ink:

First, create a new Role named “Movable Ink Da Vinci User”:

  1. Log into Cordial using an account with sufficient permissions to add new users and create/manage user roles.
  2. Access the menu in the top right corner, then select Roles and Permissions.
  3. Click New to create a new Role.
  4. Name the new Role “Movable Ink Da Vinci User”, then follow the instructions below for granting Movable Ink the preferred or minimal level of access depending on your preferences:

Permissions (Preferred Access)

Permissions (Minimal Access)

With this preferred level of access, your Movable Ink team will be able to best assist you during account set-up and while troubleshooting any unforeseen integration issues.

Feature Access > Messages and Orchestrations:

  • Create and edit message content
  • Create and edit messages and orchestration settings
  • Delete messages and orchestrations
  • Pause, cancel, resume and disable messages and orchestrations
  • Send, publish, and enable messages and orchestrations

Account Settings > Transports:

  • View transports list

With this minimal level of access, the Movable Ink team will be able to log into your ESP, perform some limited integration set-up steps, and confirm that the integration is behaving properly.  However, other set-up steps will need to be completed by client team members.

Additionally, Movable Ink will be unable to troubleshoot most unforeseen ESP-integration issues.

If minimal access is granted, Movable Ink will require a well-defined client escalation path.

To grant Movable Ink Da Vinci team members the minimal level of access, do not select any of the boxes under Feature Access or Account Settings.

  1. Save the new role

Now, assign that new Role to either the Movable Ink team alias or individual users, depending on your preference:

  1. Log into Cordial using an account with sufficient permissions to add new users and create/manage user roles.
  2. Access the menu in the top right corner, then select Users.
  3. Click Invite to add a new user.
  4. Invite the Movable Ink team alias or individual Movable Ink Users based on your preference and the information provided below.  Always assign the Movable Ink Da Vinci role to invited users.

Alias Access (Preferred)

The Movable Ink team shares a single user account, which is set-up for our team alias

Individual Access

Specific Movable Ink team members are given individual user accounts

To grant alias access, supply the Movable Ink team alias as the email address.  This usually follows the format of <clientname>@movableink.com.  Reach out to your Implementation or Client Experience team if you need help determining the alias.

To grant individual access, reach out to your Implementation or Client Experience team for a specific list of names and email addresses that will need access.

If this level of access is granted, then a detailed escalation path must be provided to Movable Ink, allowing your team to be contacted for assistance in the event of an ESP outage or incident.

To grant Movable Ink API access:

Note!  If you maintain a Sandbox Cordial account and a Production Cordial account, we recommend you follow these instructions for both, and provide us with API Keys for both.

  1. Log into Cordial using an account with sufficient permissions to manage API Keys.

Provide the following information to your Implementation Team by using the form linked below:

  1. Transport ID
    • Da Vinci currently only supports referencing a single Transport ID for all campaigns.
    • The Transports section can be found by selecting Account Transports from the top right menu in Cordial.  The “Transport ID” value for the desired promotional classification should be retrieved and shared with Movable Ink.
    • Here is additional documentation on Account Transports in Cordial.
  2. From Email, From Description, Reply-To Email
    • Da Vinci only supports a single From Email, From Description, and Reply-To Email for all campaigns.  Please carefully review these values, then share them with Movable Ink using the form below.
