Oracle Responsys: Instructions for Initial ESP Set Up

 

⏳Completing these instructions should take around 1 hour.

The major steps involve:

  • Creating a new UI user for Movable Ink
  • Allowlisting IPs for Movable Ink
  • Creating a new API user for Movable Ink
  • Sharing login credentials for the Oracle Responsys SFTP
  • Requesting Oracle Support to implement API rate limit adjustments on your account
  • Sharing various account parameters/configurations

To create a UI user account for Movable Ink:

  1. Log into Oracle Responsys using an account with sufficient permissions to add new users
  2. Select The Account icon Account on the side navigation bar.
  3. Select User Identity Management, and then select Add user.
    1. Login Name: See notes below
    2. User Display Name: Movableink
    3. Password: If prompted, use any secure temporary password
    4. Email Address: See notes below 

Notes:

  • The preferred Login Name will be shared by your implementation team; it generally follows the format of:

movableink_<clientname>

  • The preferred Email Address will be shared by your implementation team; it generally follows the format of:

<clientname>@movableink.com

If IP allowlisting is used on your account, the following IP addresses should all be allow listed for accessing the Oracle Responsys Interact UI:

  • 130.41.56.102
  • 130.41.56.13
  • 130.41.86.200
  • 130.41.86.87
  • 130.41.46.253
  • 130.41.49.108
  • 130.41.49.43

To set up an API user account for Movable Ink:

  1. Log into Oracle Responsys using an account with sufficient permissions to add new users
  2. Select The Account icon Account on the side navigation bar.
  3. Select User Identity Management, and then select Add user.
    • Login Name: See notes below
    • User Display Name: Movableink API
    • Password: If prompted, use any secure temporary password
    • Email Address: See notes below 

Notes:

  • The preferred Login Name will be shared by your implementation team; it generally follows the format of:

movableink_api_<clientname>

  • Use the same Email Address as the UI user account; it generally follows the format of:

<clientname>@movableink.com

  1. On the Role Assignment tab, select the following functional roles:
    • Analytics Web Services Manager
    • Campaign Web Services Manager
    • Content Web Services Manager
    • Folder Web Services Manager
    • List Web Services Manager
    • Program Web Services Manager
    • Table Web Services Manager

Da Vinci requires access to the Oracle Responsys SFTP server for the transmission of campaign data and for the extraction of Contact Event Data (CED):


Provide the following information using the form linked below:

  • Oracle Responsys SFTP username
  • Oracle Responsys SFTP hostname
  • Do not provide us with the Oracle Responsys SFTP password!  Your Da Vinci Implementation Team will soon provide you with an SSH public key to configure in the Responsys UI for authentication purposes.

Set up the following two directories on the Oracle Responsys SFTP:

  • /davinci/incoming/
  • /davinci/outgoing/

Da Vinci API requires you to make rate limit adjustments in Oracle Responsys:

For Movable Ink Da Vinci to properly integrate with Oracle Responses, adjustments to the API rate limits in your Responsys environment are necessary.  Follow these instructions to request Oracle support to implement the adjustments.

 

After setting up the UI and API users, provide the following information to your Implementation Team using the form linked below:

  • Environment: Your Oracle Responsys Interact environment or pod number
  • Account Time Zone: The time zone registered in Responsys (for example, America/Chicago)
  • List Name/Folder: The master Profile List Name you use for executing campaigns and the folder where it is located
  • The From Name, From Address, and Reply To Address you’d like to use for Da Vinci campaign sends.  If multiple are provided, indicate which should be configured as the Default.
  • The Marketing Strategy and Marketing Program you’d like to use for Da Vinci campaign sends.
    • Note: Check spelling and capitalization!  Your Da Vinci team must match these exactly while setting up your account
  • If Link Categories are applied to hyperlinks, provide a list of all Link Categories that must be accessible from within Da Vinci.
